April 12, 2009 Minutes of 2008 Annual Meeting
TOWN OF ASHFORD FOND DU LAC COUNTY April 12th, 2008 Meeting was called to order by Chairman Joe Koch. Roll Call: Joe Koch, Randy Sinotte, Bob Burg present. The Treasurer and the Clerk along with 9 electors were also present. Pledge of Allegiance was said. Minutes of the 2007 Annual meeting were read. Motion to approve the minutes as read by Dwain Knuth and 2nd by Dan Wagner. All in favor. The Treasurer read the financial report and the town has paid the loan in full. Motion to approve the financial report by Neal Straub and 2nd by Dwain Knuth. We’ll be patching up small potholes in the roads from the winter. Also will be doing chip-sealing and crack filling on certain roads. Dan Wagner asked about how the financially report was with the town, Joe Koch said not good, as of right now the town has spent $60,000.00 so far on Hwy expenses. Joe Retzer asked about the warning sign, Joe Koch said he’ll fix it when it’s a little nicer out, sign was hit in the winter by a hit and run person. Dan Wagner asked about stop ahead sign on Cloverland if someone put it back up, Joe Koch said it’s all done. Joe Koch mentioned 3 culverts have to be patched. Also mentioned was dumping brush and lawn clippings in the town’s ditches. Doreen Ruplinger will put something in the tax bills, no dumping of brush or clippings in town ditches, town has a right to penalize anyone doing it. Neal Straub asked if the town made a decision on charging people for plowing personal driveways. The minimum would be $100.00 a driveway each time. Town is not responsible for any damages done to property. The owners would have to sign an agreement before plow drivers would do any plowing, the agreements would be kept in the plow trucks. Also the Town does have the right to refuse anyone that asks for a personal driveway to be plowed. Bob Burg said the Town will be getting $2117.00 in recycling grant money. Neal Straub also asked about snow removal equipment and made a motion to the Town Board to look at single axle with equipment and price on both 4X4 and a 4x2 Dan Wagner 2nd the motion. Stan Brath made a motion the Town Board buy one as long as it’s in the Town Budget and that was 2nd by Dwain Knuth. Joe Koch mentioned maybe raising the Equipment from $10,000.00 to possible $20,000.00 when budget time comes in November. Jeff Steger asked about Summer brush and grass cutting along the Town roads, he mentioned first cutting the grass and then the brush, otherwise it gets to big and the trunks are harder to cut. So first the grass will be cut then the brush and will be starting to cut by the end of April. The weather forecast was partly cloudy, snow showers and cold with the temp. @ 36 degrees. Next years Annual Meeting will be April 11th, 2009. Neal Straub made a motion to adjourn, 2nd by Joe Retzer.
