Tree Sales The Fond du Lac County Land and Water Conservation Department offers seedling trees for the following spring planting. The trees can be used to establish windbreaks, develop wildlife habitat, or reforest small areas. The tree forms become available late September/early October. The trees are sold in increments of 50 and are sold on a first come, first served basis. Distribution of trees takes place in mid April. Varieties and prices vary from year to year. To help with postage expenses, the department requests anyone wishing to receive an order form through the mail for the following year, to please provide a self addressed stamped business size envelope. The price is $0.15/foot Root Gel Root Gel is an absorbent material that retains water and reduces planting stress during dry periods. One ounce of Root Gel will treat 200 seedlings or 60 transplants. Root Gel sells for $1.50/ounce. Tree Tubes The county has 4' tree shelters and 4' stakes available. Tree tubes are priced at $3.40/each or $85.00 per 25. Tree stakes can be purchased for $1.30/each or $32.50 for 25. Please call the office at (920) 923-3033, ext. 3 to check current availability. Fond du lac County will no longer be offering the wildflower seed for purchase. Please contact Outagamie or Ozaukee County to purchase wildflower seeds.
